Speaker Biography

Terence Liu, PhD (劉榮太博士)

Dr. Terence Liu joined Trend Micro as Vice President of Network Threat Defense Technology Group, and focus on developing and enabling Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technologies in-house, and also expanding Trend Micro's footprint on new networking technologies such like Software Defined Network (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Internet & Software of Things (IoT). Prior to Trend Micro, Terence was the CEO of Broadweb. He turned over the company by defining and creating its DPI licensing business, and made the company become profitable for five years in a row. BroadWeb was finally acquired by Trend Micro in October 2013. Terence earned the PhD and M.S. degree in Computer Science from National Tsing-Hua University, and holds several patents and IEEE/ACM publications
