Kdan Mobile Software, a Taiwan-headquartered global Software as a Service (SaaS) provider that operates in China and the US, has raised $5 million in Series A funding round backed by WI Harper Group, Darwin Venture Management, and Accord Ventures, according to a company statement.
Founded in 2009, Kdan Mobile has been providing mobile software applications and online services that have been downloaded more than 120 million times worldwide, allowing users to create, distribute, and conjoin projects via a variety of devices across platforms.
It also claims to have 3.5 million Kdan Cloud members.
In 2017, the company extended Creativity 365, one of its popular services, to offer business and education volume purchase plans and launched a new comprehensive document solution for enterprises, Document 365.
Kenny Su, the company’s CEO, said Kdan Mobile has been profitable and that the raised funds will mainly be used for cultivating opportunities related to artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
“The financial support will enable the company to further develop real-time collaboration and encrypted document solutions, which can fully support educational and enterprise needs,” Su, adding that Kdan Mobile will continue promoting their software services focusing heavily on the American and Chinese markets.
Y.K. Chu, Managing Director at WI Harper Group, said “Kdan’s continuous innovation and development over the years are something we value highly. With an already strong global foothold, we look forward to seeing what Kdan can become”.
Last year, Kdan Mobile signed a partnership agreement with LKKER, the host of an online designs sharing platform in China.
“Together with LKKER we are exploring new design solutions and crowd-business opportunities,” the company said.
