Henry Chen Entrepreneur in Residence

Dr. Henry Chen is based in Silicon Valley and Taiwan, and has worked in the United States, Mainland China, and Europe. Trained as an electrical engineer, Henry’s career has focused on semiconductor technology and business development. He joined Darwin Venture Management as an EIR in October 2021.

Prior to this position, Henry was with GigaDevice Semiconductor Inc., a leading public semiconductor company in China (SHA: 603986), leading its corporate strategy, advanced technology evaluation, global partnership development, and project management office (PMO). He participated in the company’s M&A, strategic investment, joint venture, and new business SPO efforts. In 2018, he co-founded Reliance Memory Inc. with the support of Gigadevice, Rambus (NASDAQ: RMBS), and VCs. Reliance develops resistive random-access memory (RRAM/ReRAM), which is the core topic of Henry’s Ph.D. thesis. From 2014 to 2016, Henry worked on the solid-state drive (SSD) optimization at SanDisk’s Headquarters in California. To date, Henry has contributed more than 70 technical papers with the citation of more than 4,500 in prestigious journals and conferences.

Henry received his Ph.D./M.S. from Stanford University in 2014/2011 and B.S. from National Tsing Hua University in 2007, all in EE. He also holds a Ph.D. minor from the Management and Science Engineering (MS&E) Department at Stanford University, focusing on investment, corporate finance, wealth management, and economic analysis.
